When NotFromHere was asked to design the packaging for the world's best-selling toy, we said "yes" so quickly - it felt like we had broken the world record for solving the cube itself, which stands at less than 4 seconds (!)... completely crazy.
The groundbreaking Hungarian smart cube – GoCube – for those who don’t know, is an award-winning smart cube with millions of users worldwide. It collaborates with huge brands like REDBULL and Rubik’s Cube.
The cube itself connects to a phone or tablet and tracks movements in real time. Big kudos to visionary entrepreneurs Udi and Amir Dor, founders of PARTICULA, who have introduced a new and fascinating dimension to the world. BIG LIKE.
The design concept was to create packaging that is based on the experience of use. The first movement when using the cube is a rotation – and this rotation was also incorporated into the experience of opening the packaging itself.
To our delight, this packaging also won the WPO's 2023 World Packaging Awards – the global Oscars of the packaging world.
By the way, the original Hungarian cube celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.
50 years of hundreds of millions of quick finger movements, hundreds of millions of frustrations,
And hundreds of millions of successes and satisfaction.
It's no coincidence that it's one of the best-selling toys of all time.
The cube was invented in 1974 by Hungarian sculptor and professor of architecture Erno Rubik.
Arnault initially called it Rubik-kocka (in Hungarian), and it later became a thriving company.
And to one of the strongest global brands under the name Rubik's Cube.
