In 2001, I graduated from design school and went straight to New York. One of the eternal symbols of this city is Milton Glaser's iconic sign I ❤️ NY – we can talk a lot and expand on how brilliant this designer was – and how with a minimum of graphic elements he would kick the viewer's soft stomach.

With the help of two graphic elements, a letter and a shape, a clear and concise message was conveyed. I ❤️ NY More The initial sketch was made in 1977, Milton drew the sketch while riding in a taxi with colored chalk of the logo on the back of an envelope. At that time, New York was not exactly the most beloved and friendly place, and the campaign carried out by the State of New York was an attempt to arouse identification and connection with this immortal brand. The rest of the story is known and after a two-week campaign, it became one of the most famous logos in the world.

In 2020, we began working with Haifa 2030, a strategic body that engages the municipality in developing and implementing innovation processes for the benefit of the city. As part of the joint work, in order to enable the body to implement its activities within Israel and abroad, to bring investors and entrepreneurs to the city.
Haifa 2030 has undergone a branding process Strategic in-depth. The city of Haifa and the municipality, led by its current leader, are going through many upheavals these days – I think there is something in this period that is similar to the times in New York, and therefore there is no better time to say – I ❤️ HFA – The logo was born from the Haifa2030 logo which uses one of Haifa's symbols, the many stairs that fill the city and connect it.

This year Milton Glaser passed away. It was important to me to note this. It was important to pay tribute to an artist of such magnitude, one of the greatest designers. I was looking for something that would fit this period. Of course, unlike epidemics, you can't compare, but again, something from that period, the cheerful 80s and the terrible AIDS epidemic, and in this period, with this complacency that we have that everything is allowed and that everything is possible...
