Branding and design for food and beverage companies
A good food brand makes people want to try it long before they reach the meal stage.
There is no sense of taste, so the design does the job: the color, the shape, the name and the words on the packaging promise something, and the product must live up to the promise. We worked with restaurants, beverage series and food brands, from green tea on the shelf to a restaurant in the ancient port of Caesarea. We build brands whose promise is clear from the first glance and remains true even after the bite.
What is branding, when you think about a brand in the food and beverage industry?

Name and brand promise
Before designing, you need to know what you promise and what sets us apart: taste, origin, luxury, health with sugar and no sugar.. When the promise is clear, everything else becomes easy, from the name to the price.

Design that you can taste
Color, typography, and the style of graphic language: we are looking for the nuance that makes people feel a sense of taste, without clichés.

User experience
We buy and consume with our eyes. We taste before we even put anything in our mouths. We enter a restaurant and connect only through the smell in the air. The brand must be present at every touchpoint with the customer.

How to make you feel?
The essence is to create differentiation, for people to see you, feel you, and love you. And for them to feel that you love them back.
How we work
In the food world, decisions are made quickly. That’s why we test every direction in its real environment, not just on a screen.
01
Going out into the field
- We go through the shelves or the competing restaurants and see what one looks like compared to the other.
- Recognize the visual codes that are already captured in the category
- Understand where the customer encounters the product: a store, a table, or the phone screen
02
Market research
- We check who is near you, who are the competitors, what they look like and what sets them apart.
- We examine what sets you apart from your competitors
- Understand your strengths
- Draw conclusions based on research, identify where the Void is located
03
Building the brand
- Building a visual language
- Building a brand book

Why NFH
Food is a promise
A food brand that promises but does not deliver loses a customer forever. Therefore, we start with the question of what the real value is, and build the brand around it.
What did we do
At Port Cafe, we combined a classic Kehila restaurant with a modern approach, and typography that combines Hebrew and English. At OlaKala, we built a brand for an urban Greek restaurant, where signage and space are part of the experience. At Greentea Everyday, the new design of the tea series increased sales by hundreds of percent.
One stop shop
In the food world, the brand meets the customer in many places: on a shelf, in an app, at a table, in a bag. Through NFH Laboratory we design them together, so that the customer can recognize you everywhere.

How much does the design of packaging and labeling for a food product cost?
It depends on the number of products and the scope: one label or an entire series, and if a brand identity is also required. We quote based on the project.
Are you handling the regulatory liabilities regarding the labeling?
We design the layout so that the nutritional information and mandatory duties take up a clear space. The final verification against regulatory requirements is the responsibility of the manufacturer and their regulatory consultant.
Is it possible to refresh an existing food brand without losing customers?
Yes. We revive what is outdated and preserve what customers recognize and love: color, shape, or name.
What is the difference between restaurant branding and food product branding?
A product sold on a shelf and in packaging. A restaurant sold through an experience: the place, the space, the menu, and the service. In a brand restaurant, the experience should feel right even when you enter it.
